Hvar Island: from north to south, day and night

They say “a picture is worth a thousand words”.

How about 20 pictures or 50?! Well then, I could easily start a novel with how many pictures we took on the Croat Hvar island, last year. And back then, I wasn’t even writing travel stories on my blog.  Today, I would probably fill a 2GB card in just two days.

But let’s get to the exciting part at once, right? the pictures and also a few travel tips. Continue reading “Hvar Island: from north to south, day and night”

Sibenik and the picture perfect landscape

Sibenik was not in our plan when we first traced the roadmap for our Croatian journey. But Varazdin was not either and turned out to be such a great discovery!

We were leaving Zadar that morning, heading for Krka National Park, when my partner said we could stop for a couple of hours in this town called Sibenik that he had heard good things about from a co-worker and that is located less than 20km from Krka park.

“YES, LET’S GO THERE TOO”, I said right away 🙂 always so excited to see new places.

Arbanasi, a Bulgarian village build from stone

Arbanasi is a beautiful village perched on a high plateau, only 4 kilometers away from Veliko Tarnovo town.

It is a good weekend stop for those who need a couple of days of relax-time in nice hotels or guest houses and enjoy nature and the beautiful countryside and the good food.

Otherwise, if you are the active type of tourist, you can see all of it in just a few hours.

A car trip to Bulgaria, but not to the sea side

Who else is happy that the 1st of June is now a bank holiday in Romania? I know I am!!! So this year, because 4 and 5 June are also holidays, with only one day of work leave, we got ourselves with a total of 5 days away from the office life.

The amazing scenery from the Rasnov fortress

Rasnov is one of those places that will stimulate your imagination with the beautiful setting and the stories from medieval times, when the Romanian lands were bruised by the invaders.

We visited it on the 1st of May. But we almost missed the place! We had spent the weekend near Bran area, but because it had been raining all night long, the first plan was to go back straight to Bucharest. However, the late morning got some warm rays of sun and that changed our minds. I’m sooo glad that happened!!!

Munster in a nutshell: Bicycle Capital of Germany and Green City

Munster is the town we have traveled the most outside Romania. Once a year in the past nine years, and the more I get to know it, the more I love it.

This town can be described in many ways, but to sum it up it’s the bicycle capital of Germany, it has one of the highest standards of living in Europe and has some of the best universities in Germany.  Continue reading “Munster in a nutshell: Bicycle Capital of Germany and Green City”
